Welcome to the Southend-on-Sea Branch of the BCSS
We very much regret that, owing to the Coronavirus outbreak, we have taken the decision to cancel many of our meetings and events. This may well be the case for the remainder of the year, but we will of course review the situation and further up-date you as necessary.
Southend-on-Sea held its inaugural meeting on 8 October 1966 in a Scout's hut. We are still meeting regularly at our new venue at the Saxon Hall in Southend, which is quite a bit more luxurious! See our contact page for more information on how to find us
Our meetings are held on the first Friday of the month (unless indicated otherwise) and usually include an illustrated talk. We have a great programme lined up for 2020 with speakers on a wide range of topics. Please see our meetings page for full details.
We hold an Annual Show at nearby Westcliff-on-Sea and we include a garden visit in August, an enjoyable social event with plenty of time to admire someone's greenhouse.
If you are interested in cacti and succulents, do come along to one of our meetings. We are a friendly bunch of people and you will be made very welcome.
